  1. Question What is a skin?

I know this sounds naive, but what exactly is the 'skin'?

I like the Satellite skin. Obviously, it comes in the colours presented in the demo?

I am assuming the skin is a code which formats your vBulletin site in the colour scheme, style and features that you see on the demo. Is this correct?

Is a skin more than just a style format?

Can you customise the skin (change active link colour)?

Does the Satellite skin have a fixed and expandable width? In other words, can i expand the length of the forum / skin to fill up the screen a bit more?

These questions are from a total noob, so bare with me!

You are correct a skin is basically that. If you put new skin on your body you change your look. That's what happens when you install a new skin in vB you change the look of it compared to the default install.

Yes. You can change the link color

    Here.

Anything with a + after the name on the demo is full width AKA Fluid Width.

    Thanks racejunkie.

    One more question.

If a skin width is fluid (and hence fills up the entire screen), can you actually set the width yourself, so it takes up about 75-80% of the screen rather than the entire width?

That's the fixed width skin and can be set to whatever size you want.
