I looked at a LOT of styles. I am very pleased with how flycat turned out on my vBulletin board.

I made quite a few subtle changes, many in the heading. The most obvious change is the golden color I added for the background. I also added a hack for the Latest Threads.

You are right, Danny, there are two colors of gold.

I got the idea of using the lighter color as a background from the PSD file, with the forum layout, that came in the download. It has two colors of gold as well, plus a lot of black and red.

I tried to change the gif images, but they were optimized to exclude the lighter color that I am using. I have been unsuccessful at converting the gif's to another data type to make the change there.

To get around the two colors of gold, I changed the background gold to match the blue-gray in the heading. It look very unified. But the effect seemed too soft for my page. I wanted the gold to brighten it up just a tad. So I tried making the background the darker gold, and it was too overpowering for my tastes.

I am open to suggestions as to what to change. But I have not yet hit upon a combination I like (or should I say could achieve :rolleyes: ) better than this.

Hi Jeff,
if you replace the 2 images for the category shadow in your forum under flycatimages/misc/ with the attached images( in the gold.zip archive in this post) it should solve your problem
