Are these extra steps needed for everyone, or just the people who want separate categories? I really want a style I can install within seconds; these extra steps are frustrating.

The extra step are required if you download teh new files if not you can stick with the old version however sooner or later you will be required to use the new code.

2 Extra installation steps in order to allow any possible forum layout and not be restricted to set your forum as child of categories like in all other skins with separate categories, is really not that much, considerign the huge benefits and one step closer to gain 100% and more of the default vbulletin functionality ;)
