Hello fellow vB mates, my partners and I run an on-line gaming community web portal. We are in the in the process of changing to vB as our portal system. Our project is in midstream and we are at the point of needing a theme designer, integrator and coder. We are prepared to provide fair compensation for services delivered, having already invested considerable sums of dollars in licenses, programs, some starter skins, and some paid hacks and mods, all unbranded versions.

We are interested in securing the services of a designer or a team who is excellent with vB coding and with theme design and integrating the various hacks and modules we want with whatever template changes are required. Our requirements are to have a custom built theme that will be used across multiple sub domains, with each sub domain having a different color to the theme and different images in headers, but having the similar layouts. We need the theme(s) to all be able to handle each of the hacks and mods that we wish to install across the portal.

Primary objective: Custom theme with different color variables of the theme deployed across several sub domains. Header images shall be different on each variable and shall be easy to change by our staff. Some very light flash elements will be considered but nothing to heavy that slows down page loads. For a start we will require five different variations of color and images, but layouts need to be consistent.

Second objective: Themes must be able to incorporate a banner system for rotating ads with banners being located in various locations thru out pages. Banners need to be admin controllable and shall be located top bottom and sides of layout including in forums in between categories and threads. I know there are several hacks that accomplish this, but the themes need to be laid out accordingly to accept whatever hack/mod is selected.

Third objective: Incorporate hacks/mods, plugins or purchased programs (Photopost, Links Directory, vBSEO and others) so as to minimize changes that may be required to theme/skin files and templates. We have the ability to install most hacks ourselves, we just want to insure that the theme is styled in such a manner that it is easy enough if changes to templates or files are required. I may not be wording this correctly but once we select a team we can iron this detail out for a better understanding of what we are trying to accomplish.

Our project will incorporate vBulletin 3.5.x and vBadvanced CMPS 2.1 along with several other purchased products. Our current system is PHP-Nuke and can be viewed at www.dccombat.com (http://www.dccombat.com/). I do not think I need to delve into our reasons for change ... that should be self-evident. We understand that your time is a valued asset and we will compensate accordingly. I do not wish to publicly state our budget for this part of our project for obvious reasons. This is not a $50, $100, or $200 type of project. You can rest assured our project is well funded by our parent company and our affiliates. Our decision will not be based purely on cost, we place more value on ability to deliver a high quality product to our specifications in a time frame that is agreed upon by all in advance. Time is a factor, but we feel that by keeping the time limited to an agreed upon schedule the work can progress at a pace that favors timely delivery. Service to our users and to our clients is our primary objective and we will expect the same from any designer or design team we select. Trust me we have been down the path with some designers that resulted in a very frustrating experience. We will not go there again.

There will be the possibility of continuing services after the initial phase of the project is complete. We expect the growth of our concept take off and there will be many opportunities for customization of themes, skins and continuing graphics work. We also are on a dedicated server with lots of bandwidth and are willing to discuss a barter trade of services as partial payment if that is a desirable option.

Any and all proposals will be considered no matter the cost. We can discuss preliminary cost estimates during the interview process so that any one pursuing the project can develop a comfort level with the validity of our ability to compensate. We will pay via Paypal from our verified business account or if you have the ability to accept direct credit card payments via a secured payment portal we will consider other options but Paypal is our preference.

If you wish to discuss this project in further detail please contact me via PM on this site. While you will see this same RFP on other sites thru-out the community we prefer you contact us from the site you found us at. Please submit some links to your portfolio or completed work and any other information you wish to us to consider like customer testimonials, preliminary cost estimates, etc etc. We will require a written services agreement and the ability to have phone contact (if US based) or other means of voice communication. This is not the kind of project that can handled via email and IM or PM. We will also require all copyrights to all materials and all images. We will also need the .psd files, .fla files, and any other type of file used to generate the project. Our preference is to develop an on-going relationship with a reliable developer, one that we can return to for additional work and or technical services should the need arise, but the having possession of the files will insure the ability to make that decision for ourselves.

If you have made it this far thru the RFP, then you must be ready to take on our challenge. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. We will select someone not later than 3/6/06. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration of our project.
