Since many of you are using vbseo , I could make a extra forums in the members area where we can share tips and rules and mainly start writing a list of all the images included in each skin so that we can take advantage of all of the options of vbseo.

Just let me know what you all think and we can take it from there :)

I suppose you are running it on your forums then, and you are making an indepth analysis of how your pages indexed is continually rocketing as each week passes? Because that is what is happening, dont know it till you have tried it. ^_^

I don't need to, and at that price- I never will.
I've set up a few SEO rewrites from another hack, that will work as good, until something better comes along and isn't too much $$$.

Also, why is it that I am not shown as a customer here? I own the Tech2 skin....

You need to make sure that the username you used when purchasing the skin, and grants you access to the member/support area is the same as your forum account. Other rewrite accounts dont allow custom rewrite options to really give your forum a unique looking and favorable URL.

Nice SEO forum, we have the look and the now the search engine placement :)

How is vBSEO? I was thinking of buying it, but wanted some input from you guys first.

vBulletin has "Archive" feature being Search-Engine friendly (copy of actual forum, just in simplified form), which is basically what vBSEO does. So what's the point or am I missing something here? Thanks!

Actually vBSEO does alot more, it actually turns all your pages into .html firstly, not just one folder full. But more importantly it makes your URL content relevant, meaning that the topic links arent just www.yourforums.com/f4/t3.html they are actually instead www.yourforums/music-chat-and-downloads/mariah-carey.html now which one of these appear more relevant and search engine friendly?

If it does what it CLAIMS to do...it's not overpriced, IMO.

I would happily pay the $$ if I knew that it worked, or was easy to uninstall (and get my money back) if it didn't work.

That is my problem, this is the username that I have been using to get into the members account, until that recent hack on the site. Now I am not able to get into the members area at all, and I purchased Tech2 earlier this year.
I think something in the database is screwed up.

I did change my e-mail address, as I sold the domain "multimedia64.com" that it was attached to.

well I just bought VBSeo - downloaded it, installed it, configured it and it's running like a dream. I had something like this years ago when I was using PHP-Nuke and it really makes a difference.

I have to say that I am pretty well placed anyway on Google - http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=pc+help+forum&meta= I seem to bounce between 2nd and 5th or 6th most weeks :)

Bring on the SE bots!!

This really doesn't get members to signup. Its a search engine optimizer that allows your web site to have a higher ranking PR on google searches. The higher ranking can bring more traffic to your site, and get more people to sign up. But you can't place a number on how many people will end up signing up.

oh i see.. does it works all the time or its all about luck??

LOL. I view it as luck.

However, google and other search engines use this very scientific way of ranking PR. This tool just helps your site to hopefully have a higher PR. I would visit http://VBSeo.com as they can answer more in depth questions about exactly how it works.

Think of this way:
vB SEO helps make your URLs more content relevant and SE friendly.
Therefore this should increase your hits from SE users.
From the more listings you get from the better URLs.
With more hits coming in, you should be getting more members.
Hence a much more active and better community :)
Although making sure that your on-page content is relevant to your forums and that you are correctly using specificed keywords to help improve your text/keyword density etc .. are all other external factors which will help contribute towards your SERP (Search Engine Result Page) results.

As previously mentioned checking out the official home of vB SEO at http://www.vbseo.com will allow you to get much more experienced and professional help with regards to boosting your Google rankings.
