I really like this skin, it's my favourite vbstyles skin yet and was actually just what i was looking for, i was considering buying and altering another skin but this one is just perfect. I do have a question though what is the difference between the heavy and normal Element skins?

Very nice indeed. The blue style is by far the best colour choice. It's definatly up there with Aria in my opinion. It's simple yet very clean look is amazing.

Can we expect any edits in the style much like the tons you guys have put together for Aria? Saying that the edits won't differ much from editing the normal VBulletin style as it's literally that with a few edits.

Clean, smooth, very appealing, top work Miko.

The date are showing correctly on vbulletin 3.09 :)
the problem is with our forum that is running 3.07 and the skin is coded for 3.09.

I will open the Element forums once the skin package is made available.
In the mean time feel free to use this thread.

The category on forumhome have a bottom image on the heavy skin.
I made it so you guys don't ask me how to do it later :)
I personally prefer the more clean version but i know many will prefer the full category.

the problem is with our forum that is running 3.07 and the skin is coded for 3.09.

I'm running 3.08. Will the dates show OK with it.

And, once Gold comes out will there be another release of Element...or will this release work on both 3.09 and 3.5 Gold?

No idea about 3.08,
this version will not work on 3.5 the skin will be converted to 3.5 after the Aria and Afterdark according to the Customer Poll :)

I believe that "+" denotes the liquid version of the style, while "#" represents the heavy version of the style. I believe "XML" may have just been a mistype, but I could be wrong.

I've come across a few issues, for example the "Quote" buttons don't show up and neither do the URL buttons in the post reply screen. Other than that nothing thus far.

By the way, Miko I LOVE the pink CSS as the announcement background, looks great. :D

I would imagine in his rush to get this out for us all today, Miko is allowed to make slight omissions in images.

I am certain he will get to them tomorrow.

Alternatively you can temporarily copy these images from another style...

I have a running forum using Element with vBA 2.0 CMPS and vBA Links Directory both up and running.

I haven't done any custom work on the CMPS as yet - it needs some tweaking on my part. I am still working on it as we speak, so you might see some formating weirdness...:D

Open editor_toolbar_wysiwyg template and look for email1.gif and quote1.gif within them - remove the '1' from each of those image names in that template and that will fix that (they are then email.gif and quote.gif).

For the second one:

Open showthread_quickreply template and look for quote1.gif - remove the '1' from each instance (2 in all) (they are then quote.gif).

This only appears to be an issue with the Blue skin. I skimmed through the Purple skin and did not see any evidence of this issue.

yes the problem was to do with the replacement names that i used to add the extra blue buttons in the blue skin,
The above fix or the one posted in the Element support forum will fix the problem.

I used the postbit_legacy template from another vBStyles theme on one of my forums which actually works quite well with Element.

You might want to try using the standard vBulletin postbit_legacy template on a test implementation first.

I wouldn't let this put you off buying it though, it's easily fixed.

A Legacy postbit will be released as add-on but currently the skin does not have one.

Ok, thanks for the quick answer guys! I'll need to wait for the 3.5 update anyway, so hopefully it's released when the 3.5 Gold version is up.

Yes, certainly the skin will be updated to 3.5, they are just talking about the order in which skins will be updated...most popular first.

In the Element Update 2 thread, the updates you mentioned are they simply updated in the members area downloaded section or can I do them manually?

I've edited Aria quite abit now and I wouldn't like to think I'd have to re-download the skin and re-upload it over my current skin losing all my edits. Is there any possible way to do these edits manually? Instructions or anything?

You need to install Element style and when you do this will have no effect on your current Aria style (unless you merge the two - which I am sure you are not going to do).

Simply install as a new style...

Sorry John I meant to say I've edited Element alot. It'd be ashame to have to re-upload the style and lose out on all the edits I've made to fix the updates Miko had made in the second update. They're not critical I know but it would be good to see them done manually.

I'm sorry to bother you with a couple of questions re: customisation

I'm trying to goto a dark or very grey overall look.
(I'm fairly new to vbulletin) so please forgive my newbie questions ;)

Use of gradients in bars - I have adjusted what I think are all the gradients used (in the gradients folder) and created a 'dark gradients' folder

Where do I replace the gradients with dgradients in the CSS?

On a similar theme - if I wished to completely replace the logo with a logo of my own what areas do I need to consider?
