Here's a site I am about to launch - let me know what you think.
It's not much really, and is still very much a work in progress - but as I am about to start a Law Degree I wanted to create a type of student/learning support forum for my fellow students, as well as seeing if there was indeed a market for another law based discussion forum. We'll see....!!
I have used vBAdvanced and made the modules on the front page use a transparent background so the image behind shows through.
Initial comments appreciated... register if you feel the need and want to help build the community... thanks...

Really well done John. It looks serious yet inviting. The only thing that caught my eye was the All Content Copyright image at the bottom seems to repeat itself but gets cut off.
I love how you layed out the CMPS page, very professional. Where are you going to school if you don't mind my asking?
Two thumbs up. Nice Job.

HI Mr V
Many thanks fot those comments, they are very much appreciated.
I don't mind you asking where I am going to chool... I am going to one of the University of Wales affiliate colleges where I live. Soooooo convenient as it's in my home town and is only 10 minutes away.
Can I ask what browser you use please3 - as the copyright image doesn't repeat for me. Ta.

That must be nice! I ended up moving halfway across the country to go to school. Can't say I regret it much now though, I love California.
I thought about going in to law myself at one point but ended up studying psychology instead.
Anywho, I snagged a screenie to show you what it's doing. I can't find anything else either and it doesn't do it in FF, very strange. I am using IE6 on WinXP.
I'm joining your forum as well :D , I imagine there will be some great discussions in the near future.

Aha.... shame on me Mr V... I use FF and didn't check that on IE. I'll add that to my list of to-do's (which is growing enormously now too:) ).
Psychology eh.... now that's a subject I'd love to study formally - just need more than 24hrs in a day. I did do a little of it in my initial Business Management degree: it's an extremely intersting subject and one I find totally fascinating especially as I watch and try to relate it to my children growing up.
It is really fantastic that you want to join the forum, I really appreciate it thank you. It is always difficult to get a new forum started, and funnily enough, someone else happened to simply stumble across the site even before I mentioned it anywhere. She also joined and has started posting too which is great.
I have a PR plan to get the name of the site 'out there' and as I start the course tomorrow afternoon, I will be mentioning it to my fellow students. Hopefully they will then start using it and yes indeed, with a little bit of luck as you say we might start seeing some great discussions. I have added a links system to the site so please do submit your URL to the directory. Please also feel free to post away as required.
Do you feel we need an 'Introduce Yourself' area? Maybe you can suggest it;)
Thanks for your encouragement and feedback... you're a good 'un sir :)

PS: I see from your site you are looking at purchasing an online gallery. vBGarage is free I think (noppid from vBWebmaster wrote it), and someone is offering a reduced vBAdvanced Gallery license here too - http://www.vbwebmaster.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1209
Just thought you might like to know. :)
I really like what you have done with the header :)

Cheers Miko... but I am not entirely happy with it. I am not certain about the right hand building and its orange gradient overlay.
I have also been trying to make a few images to replace the additional text links at the top. I wanted them to come down from the top, in the middle of the header, but am having trouble...:(
The whole thing looks absolutely fantastic. I can see myself becoming a member soon. :). Just a question... since you are studying law, will you be up to date on internet laws as well, or no? If so, I have a few questions for you. :P

I hope to major in internet law Sektor... though that's a little way off yet...:)
Please feel free to sign up though for me as I'll be looking for members. Officially, I launch the site tomorrow when I start the course and inform my fellow students, but anyone is more than welcome. I am sure there will be lots of good debate in good time.

Believe me I wish there was more than 24 hours in a day! There is so much more I would really like to study and dig in to but just can't find the time.
I'm happy to have joined. I know for certain you've got the makings of a great board there! I went ahead and "ahem" made a suggestion as well. ;) When my schedule dies down a bit once we are finished shooting this season I will have a lot more time to join in on the fun.
Thank you very much for the link to the vBGallery for sale. I have finally decided to purchase it since I have over a thousand photos to upload. I added the vBGarage for member rides but I can definately benefit from the gallery.
Keep up the great work and expect me to bug you more often very soon on your new forum. :D

This post has nothing to do with the forum that is getting reviewed sorry about this. I am simple posting because i am curious as to what it is you (mr. visual) are shooting?

I think the term 'shooting' in this instance refers to a camera...:) Mr V. runs a photography forum...
ah cool. I thought maybe he was working on a tv show or something working with cameras lol but close enough.

I love what you did with the design actually. It looks awesome.
Congrats on school. I am hoping to get the same type of degree.

Thanks tNM... that's nice of you to say.
Though I like it, and I did it myself, it doesn't strike me as WOW'ish... I'm gonna have to see what Miko's new style looks like on it...;)

Actually you are both correct. B)
I currently work as a freelance artist but my office is an a custom chopper (motorcycle) shop. While I am obsessed with both photography and automobiles, we are currently filming a "reality" type tv show. Once the show has been released I can get in to more detail on it.

As I no longer use the Satellite Style on this site, I will close this thread and start a new one relating to the style I do use.
